What’s New in MZAP 7 — Dante, Text-to-Speech, Stereo Zones & More

Since the all-new Multi Zone Audio Player 7 launched, we’ve shipped a steady stream of updates. Here are the highlights.

Built for Dante

The biggest news for professional installs: MZAP works beautifully across the Dante ecosystem. Because MZAP speaks ASIO, it plugs straight into Dante Virtual Soundcard and Dante Via — no extra bridges, no workarounds.

With Dante Virtual Soundcard running at 64×64, MZAP sees all 64 Dante channels as independent zones, each with its own player, volume, EQ, and routing. Send audio anywhere on your Dante network — to a single amp, a whole building, or dozens of rooms at once — and manage it all from one screen.

Text-to-Speech Jingles

Create jingles by simply typing text — no recording needed. MZAP now offers the offline Windows voice provider plus two cloud options, Azure Speech (~140 neural voices) and ElevenLabs (premium multilingual voices). TTS jingles play through the same ducking pipeline and can be scheduled just like file-based jingles.

Prayer-Time Scheduling

A new Prayer Time scheduler trigger fires daily at any of the five Islamic prayer times — Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha — or at Sunrise, calculated from your venue’s location. Set per-prayer offsets and date-bounded triggers (Ramadan only, for example) right in the scheduler.

Stereo Zones

A new per-device stereo zone layout toggle pairs output channels into true stereo zones, so left/right content lands exactly where it should.

Per-Application Loopback Capture

Capture audio from a specific running app — Spotify, YouTube, Chrome, and others — instead of the whole system. Player tiles even show the captured app’s track title automatically, so you can see what’s playing at a glance.

Plus Many Fixes & Improvements

A full-text Library search, live scan progress, bulk playlist creation, lower idle memory use, and more reliable crossfades — among many other refinements.
