What happens after my 1 year of updates?

Your license works forever. The updates & support renewal is optional — 79 €/year for Business, 49 €/year for Personal. Skip it and keep using the version you have.

What is the difference between Business and Business Yearly?

Nothing in the software — Business Yearly unlocks exactly the same features, including unlimited zones, ASIO and Dante. The difference is commercial: Business is 399 € once and yours forever, while Business Yearly is 149 € a year and stops when you stop paying. Pick the yearly plan for a lower up-front cost or a fixed-term project; pick perpetual if you expect to run it for more than about three years.

Do you offer discounts for non-profits, schools, or churches?

Yes. Registered non-profits and charities, schools and universities, churches, museums, libraries, and community centres qualify for special pricing. Get in touch and tell us about your organisation — your country, your registration or charity status, and how many zones you need — and we will reply with a quote. Pricing is agreed per request rather than published as a fixed percentage.

What happens after the 30-day trial?

The trial is full-featured for 30 days, then it stops. Buy Business to keep playing — a perpetual license that never expires.

Can I use a Personal license at work?

No. With a Personal license you can use the program for non-commercial purposes in a non-business environment — that is, you only intend to use it at home for private use. To use the program in a business, academic, or government environment, you should purchase a Business license.

What does Personal not include?

Four features are Business-only: SoundMachine (business music as a player source), cloud text-to-speech (Azure Speech and ElevenLabs voices), streaming zones (broadcasting a zone over Icecast or Shoutcast), and device loopback capture (recording a sound card’s output). Personal also carries two limits rather than exclusions: 6 audio zones and 2 AirPlay inputs at a time. Everything else is there — ASIO and Dante output, per-zone EQ and compressor, the scheduler, built-in text-to-speech voices, per-application capture, and AI control. The comparison table above lists it all. Personal is sold on request — tell us about your setup and we will send you an offer.

How does AirPlay work in MZAP?

MZAP acts as an AirPlay receiver: your iPhone, iPad or Mac sees it as an AirPlay destination, and whatever you play there becomes a source you can route into any zone. It does not send audio out to AirPlay speakers or a HomePod — the audio flows into MZAP, not out of it. Business and Business Yearly accept as many simultaneous AirPlay inputs as your PC can handle; Personal accepts two at a time.

Can one PC really drive a whole hotel?

Yes. Zones are limited only by your PC’s performance and available output channels — multiple sound cards, or ASIO/Dante interfaces with up to 64 channels on Business. There is no fixed zone cap in the software.

Do I need a music license to play music in my business?

Yes. Music played in a shop, restaurant, hotel, gym or office is a public performance and needs licensing, even when it is your own playlist. MZAP is the player; the rights come from your music source and, in most countries, from local collecting societies. See music licensing by country for the organisations to contact.

Can I play Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube in my business?

MZAP can capture the audio of any app, but personal streaming accounts are for personal use only — they are not licensed for playing music in a business. For a commercial space, use a business-music service such as SoundMachine, or music you hold the rights to.

Does MZAP include licensed music?

Business and Business Yearly include a SoundMachine player: licensed background-music stations, mixes and weekly schedules, played into any zones you choose. The subscription comes from SoundMachine, one account per location. In the USA and Canada it includes public-performance licensing (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and GMR; SOCAN and Re:Sound); elsewhere you also need a local license. How is this different from Soundtrack or Mood?

SoundMachine, Soundtrack and Mood are music services: they supply licensed music, usually for a monthly fee per location or zone. MZAP is the player and the zone system — one PC, unlimited zones, a one-time license. The two work together: SoundMachine is built in, and you choose any other source you are licensed to play.
